You don’t buy a candle, light it, and hide it under your bed, under a bowl, bushel, etc. Well, maybe if you wanted to start a fire, but not if you needed that light to see things. Your website is much the same, don’t hide it. Share it! Promote it!
You may share a link to a post which helps someone. You may have a link to your site in your forum post signature, your email signature, a link to your site in a profile. Use those adsense coupons and get some traffic to your site. What link are you using? Your homepage?
A landing page is a page your promote, expecting your visitors to take a specific action. If you are building a list of blog subscribers, wouldn’t it be best to point them to a subscription landing page? Give them reasons to subscribe to your site and a way to do so without too many distractions? Possibly throw in a free e-book or two.
Nor is it necessarily important to name your page subscription. You can so name it, if you wish, and your readers understand. Or they may think it is like buying a magazine subscription, and they haven’t gotten to know you well enough to start spending $ on you yet. You may already have a page which would work as a landing page. For now I’m going to use my about page, and for other things, link to my free wordpress tutorial page.
Hmmm. What page am I pointing to in my forum posts? I’d better go check, and make any needed changes.br>
