Alright, this what we’ve been waiting for. Installing your WordPress Site. You can use the click a button and answer a few questions automatic install or you can manually upload the files using a FTP tool. I’ll go over these methods so you can choose which you want to do.
But first we need to talk about domain names and name servers. If you bought your domain from your webhost, you are good to go. If you bought your domain name from another place, that is cool and what I do. But you’ll have to change the name servers so your site can connect to your domain. Basically, you tell it where to go.
Just do one of these, Click on the links to learn more and see videos.
- Auto Install on HostGator Easiest way to get started
- Auto Install IX Webhosting Last I checked wouldn’t install in the root directory, thus yourdomainname.com/blog instead of yourdomainname.com
- WordPress Manual Installion How I usually install in IX webhosting, more work, but something I know how to do and I like the unique IP address offerings from IX
- Look at Inside the Guts of WordPress to further understand what the software you install looks like.
Congrats! You now have WordPress installed on your website. Next we’ll go over settings on your dashboard.br>
