Your Time to Shine at Midlife

Your time to shine at midlifeYour Time to Shine at Midlife Sharing the “Reinvention Journey”—one story at a time by Beverly Mahone is today’s featured blog.  Beverly has over 30 years experience as a journalist and a passion for helping other baby boomers.  Today you can hear her on the radio, online talk shows, she even started her own TV show “The Boomer Beat”.  A woman of many talents.  I’ve known Beverly for many years, helping her with wordpress and teaching her how to use it.

One thing about Beverly, techie stuff like building a website was much more involved and technical than she ever dreamed she could handle, unlike running her own TV show.  Then one day she got it.  I could feel her excitement over the phone.  Freedom to create her own ebooks, card game, anything she wants and to promote it on her own website, whenever she wishes, without having to call in anyone for support.  Freedom!

Beverly MahoneBeverly knows her stuff.  Her way around the media.  How to get noticed and on the news.  She has the connections too.  Recently she wrote a book How to Get on the News without Committing Murder and if you click on the link you’ll see the sales page she created for her book, without help.  🙂  She did good!

Beverly’s site is a great example of how a consultant can have a blog/website and generate income selling her expertise.  Be sure and check out what she did with her media pages, sidebar etc.  It may give you ideas of what you can do for your own website.

And if you want media exposure, check out Beverly’s stuff.

  1. You’ve hit the nail on the head w/this, Heidi. Bev is a true inspiration … particularly to those of us who are Boomers, but also to anyone who cares to step out & take the world by storm. She has no fear, & that’s a quality we can all emulate!

  2. Heidi,
Everything I’ve learned about WordPress I’ve learned from YOU. You didn’t make me feel stupid and even when I felt frustrated, you held my hand and guided me through the process. I am what I am on WordPress because of your skill and expertise–no question about it!

  3. Thanks Bev! and that is what this site is for, to help others along the journey. It is overwhelming at first, so much new stuff we don’t understand. Smart is learning what you didn’t know. Not stupid at all.
